Alister has been repertoire adviser to the Fortune since 1982. In 1985, while completing his MLitt thesis in English at Otago University, he was invited by then Artistic Director, Tony Taylor, to join the company officially as Dramaturg. In addition to his research, archival and writing tasks he has also acted in and directed a number of productions for the company. A Fortune Board member since 1984 he has been the Board's Secretary since 1991.

Cindy has sat on the board as the performers representative for the past three years and comes with seventeen years industry experience under her belt as an actors agent, an actor, director, writer, producer, and drama teacher. She is currently working on her Post Graduate Diploma in Theatre Studies whilst juggling managing Interact Drama Classes and casting for film and televsion.

Stuart Young is Associate Professor and Head of the Theatre Studies programme at the University of Otago. He holds an MA(Hons) in Russian and French from Victoria University, Wellington, and a PhD from Cambridge, where he studied under Peter Holland.
