LOU DAYS

Louise Days

Lou's career in show business started at an early age with a performance in a local talent quest. At age eight she was obviously destined for the stage, choosing the song 'Oh Lord It's Hard To Be Humble'! A regular on the Christchurch covers band circuit for over 10 years, Lou fronted the three-piece band Voodoo Soul, and Mama Wow. She has been involved in various cabaret acts throughout her career, including the show 'The Trouble With Hamish' and regular appearances at Excalibars Theatre Restaurant and Outlaws. Christchurch audiences will have seen Lou perform in Christchurch Operatic's 'Hair', 'Westend to Broadway I and II', and for MUSOC, 'Little Shop of Horrors', 'Big City Blues' and 'Footrot Flats'. A brief stint in Palmerston North during 2001 saw Lou become the darling of the Music theatre scene in a matter of months. She performed at the Miss Manawatu competition as well as stealing the show with leading roles in '42nd Street' and 'Guys and Dolls' for Palmerston North Operatic. However, without a doubt, Lou's biggest role to date is being mother to her 4 year old son, Oscar

LEIGH WILSON

Leigh first discovered she could sing at high school when she casually auditioned and surprisingly received the role of Sandy in Burnside High Schools production of 'Grease'. Realising there was more pocket money in music than as a checkout operator she formed a busking trio called 'Forté' with singers Katrina Talbot (Mama Mia) and Julia Deans (Fur Patrol). After touring New Zealand with Forté, Leigh then decided to further her musical studies at Christchurch Polytechnic Jazz School where, with a brief interlude in Queenstown after her second year, she completed three years of study majoring in vocal performance. Leigh has been a leading light in the local musical theatre community, both in Christchurch and in Queenstown. She has performed everything from 'Bugsy Malone' to Shakespeare's 'As You Like It'. She has a number of significant roles under her belt, recently appearing as a heavily featured soloist in "Starry Nights in the Park. Other stage performances include, Christchurch Operatic's 'Westend to Broadway I' and II, the Narrator in 'Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat' and Meg in ARTCO"s production of 'Rush', Madame Thenadier in 'Les Miserables' and even as tap dancer in 42nd Street. Leigh also teaches singing and performing arts privately and in local schools.
