MIKE YEAMAN
Mike started out as an actor at the age of 17 playing the lead role in the TV drama serial Quest of Eagles. After completing a degree in drama at London University he carried on working as a television actor. Appearances include Heartbeat, Coronation Street, Byker Grove, In Suspicious Circumstances and various crime and police series.
As a writer he has written comedy series and plays for BBC Radio 4. He has also written material for TV series such as Smack The Pony and Spitting Image. In 2007 he decided his hand at writing a stage play and on a spur-of-the-moment decision, entered Lucky Numbers at the last minute for the biennial People's Play Award. He was surprised and thrilled to win – the prize including a £2,000 award as well as a studio production. Three months later, a full scale production was mounted at The Customs House theatre on Tyneside.
Mike is just completing a second stage play – another farce, and this time based on a recent true story concerning a couple forging the husband's death in an insurance scam.
He also works as a freelance writer/producer on travel programmes for Sky television but spends most of his time living on farmland in Northumberland, a few miles outside Newcastle.
