Lisa Warrington
Lisa is a long-time supporter of New Zealand drama, and has directed many NZ plays, as well as commissioning new work and acting as director or dramaturge with Playmarket on new play workshops and public readings. She also has a passion for Shakespeare, and has directed and adapted many of his comedies, most recently Love’s Labours Lost. Favourite productions include Emma, The Daylight Atheist, Old Times, Ado About Nothing, One Flash and Dancing Lughnasa. She has been three times names in NZ listener as best director. Lisa is Senior Lecturer in Theatre Studies at Otago University and is also a founder member of WOW! Productions. Last year Four Flat Whites was Lisa’s 30th production here at the Fortune.
One of her current projects is Theatre Aotearoa, a database of all New Zealand theatre, from settlement to the present which may be viewed and used at hhtp://tadb.otago.ac.nz – feedback and additional information from members of the publics are always welcome.
