The members' Society is an Incorporated Society that is committed to supporting our wonderful professional theatre in Dunedin, and has been an integral part of the theatre for the past 30 years. The most obvious benefit of membership is the reduction in seat prices that it gives, but there are a number of philanthropic businesses that also give benefits to our members.

The society has a wonderful, hardworking committee that puts a great deal of energy and enthusiasm into the theatre. Elections are held annually at the AGM and we meet on the second Monday of each month. We are concerned with ongoing fundraising and with providing ushers and coffee bar services, as well as providing support wherever we can. The organisation and auctioning of these activities does take considerable time but we are a willing bunch who love theatre and are prepared to make sure that it continues in our lovely city. With the funds that we raise we are able to help the theatre by purchasing basics and extras that add to the well-being, comfort and enjoyment of the patrons, staff and actors.

The Fortune Theatre Members' Society is a group of people who support the theatre by paying a modest membership fee each year.

Membership:
$25 single
$35 double

In return there are excellent discounts on seat prices. Members pay only $20 for performances on Opening Night, Saturday, Sunday and the following Tuesday of every run. Please note Opening Night performances can be subject to availability. For the rest of the run you pay only $30 per ticket. $5 off a regular priced ticket.

There is also the opportunity to serve as ushers, in which case the performance is seen for free.

Training for these roles is provided at the beginning of each year and as needed throughout the year.

Special evenings for members only are held each year... watching rehearsals, special deals for opening nights, wine and cheese tastings... just more advantages to your being a member.

A committee of eighteen members works hard to raise funds to help with providing amenities and improvements in the theatre. We look forward to gaining increased membership – it is such a good deal for everyone concerned.
