McDaniel + Power looking for performers
McDaniel+Power Actors had a fantastic, busy 2009 and have certainly hit the ground running in 2010.
Last year saw our performers involved in many projects that included in August the amazing transformation of Dunedin’s Bond St into 1950’s New York for Japan’s Fuji TV’s Drama ‘Wastelands.’ For the shoot McD+P supplied one hundred + fifty extras, actors Hilary Norris and Mark Neilson were cast in speaking roles, the production worked with AliMcD makeup artists on the day and Barbara + Aliana covered all administration details for Dunedin and Oamaru shoot days as well as wrangling the extras on the Dunedin day!
The response from the production team was glowing… “It looked great, the extras looked great as well as being very patient and accommodating and the scene was by far the highlight of the entire shoot thanks in no small part to the efforts of everyone at McDaniel+Power”
A snapshot of other projects last year include: a small group of McD+P men re-enacted Crunchie’s ‘Great Train Robbery’ for Cadburys Chocolate Carnival and for TVNZ’s Good Morning. In November we brought Miranda Harcourt to Dunedin and she worked exclusively with McD+P actors hosting inspiring workshops aimed at honing Acting for Screen Technique.
Mid year Aaron Hawkins/Rob McLennan and Michael Metzger were cast in Areograph’s ‘Casebook Episode Four’
In January 2010 we provided agency services to Honda/Japan for a TVC and we are now getting ready for a weekend of film + television workshops in which our contribution is the collaborative workshop ‘ An Actors Guide to Auditioning ‘ which we will host with experienced national casting director Simon Marler.
South Pacific Pictures casting director Andrea Kelland is also in Dunedin in March (for the first time in 10 years) especially to audition over 35 of our actors for roles in the country’s longest running soap – Shortland St.
We would love to meet you if you are a performer considering representation in the South, we are busy and growing.
Thanks to The Fortune for their continued support.
