My First Time
21 August – 12 September, 2009
JEFF SZUSTERMAN
My First Time is Jeff’s first play with Fortune. Although a comparatively young director, Jeff is no stranger to the theatre, having acted in and directed shows to award-winning critical and popular success in Wellington and Auckland, as well as in the United States – where he lived from 2000-2004.
Since returning to NZ, Jeff has directed and acted for Silo Theatre, InsideOut Productions, and Smackbang Theatre, is the Artistic Director of ‘still water rising’ – a playwriting programme for youth in the Auckland region – and directed and participated in numerous workshop programmes with the Auckland Theatre Company.
My Fist Time also marks Jeff’s first piece of theatre in two years, having directed TV2’s perennial series Shortland Street up until the end of last year.
Jeff is a graduate of Toi Whakaari o Aotearoa: NZ Drama School’s acting programme and, as an actor, is a proud member of NZ Actors’ Equity.
